Scary Fact

Toy story Bully Sid from Toy Story has a hallway carpet which has the same design as the nightmarish corridors of The Shining. Give it up to Toy Story editor (and Toy Story 3 director) Lee Unkrich, who adores the Kubrick film.

President Problems

In 1957, President Harry Truman (a Democrat) took a trip to Disneyland and refused to ride the Dumbo ride because elephants are the symbol of the Republican party.

Alligator Scares

Due to its swamp-land setting, Disney World frequently attracts alligators, which have been found swimming around Splash Mountain, and even in one of the public toilet blocks.

Lion King Fact

The Lion King was originally called 'King of the Jungle', before some bright spark noted that lions don't tend to inhabit jungles.

Farewell to Disney paper FastPasses!

Members of the Walt Disney world staff are reporting that Magic Kingdom will be eliminating paper FastPass tickets. They are now getting MagicBands. Now you do not have to worry about losing your paper ticket. They have been trying out the new MagicBands at Animal Kingdom for several weeks.

- Disney's Arabia: Disney's first theme park in the Middle East and a new indoor-theme park inspired by the 1992 Disney animated film Aladdin to be located in Dubailand in the UAE in the Middle East.
- Disney's America: A patriotic park supposed to be located in Haymarket, Virginia.
- Disney's Venetian Resort: An Italian themed resort to be located between the Contemporary Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Disney Facts

- The Land ride at Epcot isn't just for entertainment. More than 30 tons of fruit and vegetables are grown there every year for Disney restaurants.
- Disney World flew its flags at half-staff on the day Apple co-founder Steve Jobs died. Jobs was Disney's largest single shareholder (7 percent), and he was on the board of directors.
